Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation has a long history of supporting health and wellness programs and patient care enhancements at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. While the Foundation does not directly operate health service programs, it instead serves as the conduit for gathering needed financial support for programs and capital projects at the medical center. One-hundred percent (100%) of the dollars raised are directed to programs within the medical center, serving the health needs of South Placer communities.
Since 1984 the Sutter Roseville Medical Foundation raised more than $25 million through generous donors and organizations that are committed to sustain the growing health care needs of area residents. Guided by a group of dedicated community leaders, who serve without compensation, the Foundation has given back more than $18 million to enhance patient care, provide community education and implement preventive health programs in the South Placer region.
Many patients have benefited from this support. Recent philanthropy funds were instrumental in purchasing cardiology equipment in the amount of $398,000; a Neuro-diagnostic Services EEG Unit for $273,000; fetal monitors for the Family Birth Center for $79,000 and a $56,000 wheel-chair adapted van for patients at the Sutter Rehabilitation Institute.
The Foundation’s 2010 Funding Priorities include:
Cardiology Equipment Purchases - $100,000
To fund the build-out of a new Surgical Preparation Area within the existing Cardiac Catheterization Lab and remodeling the Cardiac Rehabilitation area to make it more usable for patients’ exercise and education.
Orthopedic Navigation System - $230,000
To purchase an additional orthopedic navigation system to meet the increased need for computer-aided hip and knee replacements.
Center for Thoracic Disease - $200,000
To create a specialized Center for Thoracic Disease with a dedicated Nurse Navigator and Medical Director to diagnose, treat and provide recovery for patients diagnosed with cancer and other diseases located within the chest area.
Sutter Rehabilitation Institute - $1,000,000
Funding would allow for expanding the Institute with a 15-bed unit and nursing station with space for additional support services.
Donors who partner with Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation may participate in a variety of ways, depending on their desires and circumstances. Donations include cash contributions, or may be part of an estate plan involving current or deferred tax-deductible gifts of appreciated assets. Unrestricted donations allow the Foundation Board to respond to current needs within the medical center, although donors may also choose to direct their contributions toward programs of personal interest.
Allan Henriques, President of Smart Investor, is a Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation Board Member and a Planned Giving Committee Member and is committed to raising funds to support health and wellness programs at the hospital.
The Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation’s next fundraiser will be the 24th annual golf benefit, The Scottish Scramble, a two-day event to be held Thursday night, September 9th and all day Friday, September 10th at the Sierra View Country Club in Roseville. Thursday night activities include the Pre-Tournament Party, hosted by Armstrong and Getty, and Friday is the golf tournament.
