Tracy Gunter serves as both an assistant to participants in 401(k) plans as well as the consultant to members of the California Correctional Peace Officers (CCPOA) union regarding their legal plan benefits.
Tracy graduated from Chico State University in 1987 with a degree in Business Administration/Finance. She worked for 15 years in retail management before joining the Smart Investor team in 2002. Tracy received her Series 7, 63, and insurance licenses shortly thereafter.
In her role with CCPOA, Tracy travels all over the State of California visiting correctional facilities to introduce the legal plan. In addition, she supports CCPOA charitable activities, particularly the Shriner’s Hospital in Sacramento. During the holiday season, Tracy, along with members of CCPOA, visits the children at Shriner's Hospital. The CCPOA mascot is "Tough Teddy," who visits the children and actually climbs into bed with many of them, resulting in laughter and smiles. Tracy has served as Tough Teddy's "elf" and also brings her juggling balls to teach the kids to juggle. (Well, sometimes there is not a lot of juggling, but merely balls flying everywhere.) Tracy also keeps the video library at Shriner’s stocked with all of the latest and greatest DVD selections. She keeps her eye out for new releases throughout the year and delivers them during the visit.
Tracy loves to travel and enjoys activities with her daughter and son. Among her fondest memories with her children are climbing Half Dome in Yosemite National Park (where Tracy conquered her fear of heights), jumping out of an airplane, visiting the Berlin Wall, and seeing a show at the Moulin Rouge in Paris. She looks forward to making many more memories and feels that, "It truly is not about the breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away."
Tracy is devoted to customer service and "doing what’s right for our clients." She is a valuable asset to the firm, working with the participants of the 401(k) plans that we service. Tracy is dedicated to the members of CCPOA and continually updates her knowledge about CCPOA benefits so that she knows as much as possible. Her goal is to be able to help CCPOA members understand the benefits they have under the legal plan and to assist them in selecting the best benefit choices for their needs.
Tracy spreads joy wherever she goes and Smart Investor is lucky to have her on our team!
