Allan Henriques
President, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Compliance Officer
Allan Henriques established Smart Investor in June of 2001 and currently serves as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for the firm. In this role, Allan is responsible for the implementation of the firm’s business plan, the management and oversight of company operations, and creating and maintaining client relationships.
Allan is a former attorney, a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst®. He works with individual and institutional clients throughout the United States. For over 25 years, Allan has drawn on his legal and financial services experience to help clients meet their financial objectives while legally reducing potential tax liabilities and protecting their estate values. His professional mission is to assist his clients achieve financial security and live a financially balanced life.
Allan is actively involved in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn and the Sutter Roseville Medical Center Foundation. Allan and his wife, Linda, live in Auburn, CA. In their free time, the couple enjoys traveling and spending time with their five adult children and fourteen grandchildren.

Cathy Keck, CFP®
Executive Assistant
Cathy Keck oversees transitioning new retirement plan clients and serves as the Executive Assistant to Allan Henriques providing support on all client services including estate planning, financial planning and retirement planning needs.
Cathy began her financial services career in 1992 and has gained a wealth of knowledge over the years working for a variety of financial planning and investment advisory firms. In 2001, she formed her own financial planning and consulting services firm which she operated until she retired in 2005. In 2007, Cathy came out of retirement to join the Smart Investor team. Cathy’s professional philosophy is that education, understanding and setting expectations is the combination to a successful plan. She works diligently to ensure she is always adhering to this philosophy.

Tracy Gunter
Benefit Specialist
Tracy Gunter serves as Smart Investor’s lead advisor in providing one-on-one retirement plan participant investment advice. In this role, she works with and advises individual plan participants to help them achieve their financial retirement objectives. She is passionate about helping retirement plan participants make their retirement better.
Previously, Tracy worked as a benefit specialist with a major California union client, helping union members with their benefit choices and trouble-shooting benefit issues. She has a B.A. in business administration from Chico State University, a certificate in personal financial planning from UC Davis Extension, and her California life and health insurance license.
Tracy lives in Auburn, CA. She has two children and enjoys hot yoga, hiking, and keeping in touch with family and friends.

Thomas McHugh
Client Relationship Manager
Thomas McHugh is an Investment Advisor Representative for Smart Investor and currently serves as Client Relationship Manager working primarily with business owners to establish and maintain their qualified retirement plans. He also assists business owners with their personal financial planning, estate planning and investment management needs. With over 25 years of financial services industry working with business owners, Tom’s focus at Smart Investor is to develop and manage client relationships, including retirement plans sponsors and participants.
In his free time, Tom enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including skiing, fly fishing, cycling and camping. He currently resides in Stockton, California with his wife Jayne and his two sons.

Byron Sanders
Investment Back Office Administrator
Byron Sanders oversees the firm’s investment management back office operations and various investment management and retirement plan publications. He also serves as staff to the Investment Management Committee.
Byron has a wide-ranging background in all sectors of the financial services industry, with an emphasis on risk management, institutional research and coverage. His career has spanned more than 35 years, with specific expertise in portfolio design, investment theory and mentoring best business practices. He is a Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor Representative. Previously, Byron was employed by several regional securities firms in and around the Tampa Bay area.
Byron lives in Sarasota, Florida, with his wife Sharon, and holds a B.A degree in English from Duke University. He has eight children. His hobbies include golf, sailing, cooking, fishing, hiking, skiing and auto racing.
Robert Keyser
Investment Due Diligence
Robert conducts investment management research and performs due diligence and monitoring reports for Smart Investor’s investment portfolios and retirement plan investment options. He has more than 30 years of experience in the retail securities industry and as a retirement plan representative, with a strong background in retirement planning, life insurance and annuities, modern portfolio theory and quantitative security analysis.
Previously, Robert was a financial advisor with AIG Valic and a regional securities firm in Sarasota, Florida. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and a Chartered Life Underwriter.
Robert lives in Sarasota, Florida, with his wife Nancy. He holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame and is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Notre Dame Club of Greater Sarasota.
Michael W. Hartley
Client Portfolio Reporting
Michael oversees the firm’s client investment portfolio reporting. He also assists with investment operations and special investment research projects. His specific areas of expertise include family wealth management, virtual family interface administration, and wealth management technology design and implementation.
Michael has an MBA and a BBA from the University of Miami School of Business. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, earned certificates in Family Wealth Advising and Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute, and is a Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor Representative. Michael is also a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Michael and his wife Danielle live in Sarasota, Florida, with their children Addison and Everett. His hobbies include fishing, scuba diving and sports.
James H. Moore
Investment Back Office Operations
James Moore assists with daily investment operations, including trade processing, reconciliation and reporting. He also provides investment research assistance and serves as staff to the Investment Management Committee.
James earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Florida in 1999. Currently, he holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and is registered as a Series 65 Registered Investment Advisor Representative. In addition, he has completed professional coaching and development training through CEG Worldwide.
James serves on several community boards that have a common goal of enhancing the quality of life for others within the community. In 2004, he helped start the Heart Gallery of Sarasota, a not-for-profit organization that aids in placing children in the foster care system with adoptive families. James and his wife Mollie live in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, with their three children, Carues, Wesley and Gavin. In his free time, he enjoys golf, running, swimming and coaching his children in their after-school activities.
Laura S. Moskwa
Retirement Plan Consultant
Laura S. Moskwa, CPC, QPA is a Reitrement Plan Consultant for Smart Investor. With over 25 years of experience in the pension industry, Laura focuses on helping employers provide the best retirement plan solution for them and their employees. Laura’s experience includes owning her own consulting firm which offers services to providers working in the retirement plan industry. Prior to establishing her own firm she worked for Transamerica Retirement Services as Vice President and Director of TPA Services. Laura also has eighteen years of experience as a TPA which encompassed many roles as well as ownership.
Laura has been a member of the American Society of Pension Professional and Actuaries (ASPPA) for over 20 years. She currently sits on the Board of Directors and has served on the Executive Committee as Vice President, the Marketing Committee, the Education and Examination Committee, the Conferences Committee and numerous taskforces. She has also spoken at industry conferences and lead exam study sessions. Laura sits on the Center for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX) Registration Committee providing industry, TPA and Recordkeeping expertise in the review of firms applying for the ASPPA Service Provider Certification and is a Board Member of the Women in Pensions Network.
Laura is a Charter Member of Soroptimist International of the American River in Auburn. She lives in Auburn with her husband Tony and their two children. She enjoys cooking, gardening, painting, skiing and traveling.

Luann Wallick
Client Service Representative
As Smart Investor’s Client Service Representative, Luann Wallick oversees the establishment and maintenance of client and retirement plan accounts. She serves as a liaison with the various custodians used by Smart Investor. Luann assists the portfolio manager with daily account reconciliation, account downloads and trade processing. On a quarterly basis, Luann is an integral part of the preparation and dissemination of the quarterly reports.
Luann brings to Smart Investor 20 years of financial services experience in all areas of administrative and operational responsibilities for both Registered Investment Advisor and brokerage firms.
A resident of Roseville, Luann enjoys spending time with her two sons, Colby, 26 and Dylan, 20.
